FAQ
What is the ewear ring?
It’s an everyday accessory with the ability to make contactless payments anywhere.
How does it work?
The ring is linked to a bank card number to enable payments, similar to a mobile phone.
How do I link the ring to my card?
It’s linked through your mobile phone using an app where you enter the card details you want to associate with the ring.
Why do you ask me for my card details in the moment of the purchase of my eWear ring?
We ask you for the details of the card that you will be connecting to your eWear ring to verify that the card can be connected and so that we can do the job for you! You will receive your ring already linked to your card, you will only have to safely activate it. You can also choose to link the card yourself through the Fidemso App once you receive it, if you prefer. To do so, just close the pop-up window that asks you for your card details in the moment of the purchase.
Is it better to give you my card details when I purchase the ring or to link the card to it myself once I receive it?
It is always better to give us your card details so we can link the ring for you and confirm that everything is working fine. We don´t see your card details at any point, they are only used to automaticlly create a token that will be linked to the ring. Neither do we store your card details.
Does it work with any bank?
You can check the valid banks in this link. If you don´t see your bank on the list, you can still connect your ring to any of your cards from any bank through the Curve wallet.
Does Curve apply additional fees?
There is a one-time fee of 6,99€ that you pay at the beginning in order to receive your physical card. Apart from that, there are no other fees if you choose the basic plan.
Do I have to wait to receive the physical Curve card in order to connect it to my eWear Ring?
No, once your account is created and you link one of your cards to the Curve wallet, you can connect the virtual Curve card to the eWear Ring.
Can I connect the ring to my Revolut account?
Yes, it works for all Revolut Visa cards. If your card is MasterCard, you can easily create a new virtual Visa card by contacting the Revolut support through the app. Just ask them to create a virtual Visa for you, it is completely free and will only take some minutes!
What is its autonomy?
Unlimited. It doesn’t require batteries, so you don’t have to worry about charging it.
Do I need my phone nearby for it to work?
No. It works entirely autonomously, without needing a mobile phone or an internet connection.
Can I link more than one card to the ring?
Yes, you can link as many cards as you want through the app. However, keep in mind that you’ll need to unlink the previous card before adding a new one.
Is it secure? What if someone waves a payment terminal near it?
Yes, it’s completely secure. It has passed rigorous Visa and MasterCard certifications to ensure your money and credentials are always safe. It works at a specific distance and position, and you can set up a PIN via your bank’s app to prevent accidental payments. For more information about the device security, check this link.
What should I do if I lose it? Is my money at risk?
Don’t worry, your money and credentials are always safe. You have two options:
- If you’re unsure where it is, you can pause payments through the app (Fidesmo). Select your ring and click “Pause payments.” Once you find it, you can reactivate payments the same way instantly.
- If you’re certain it’s lost or left in a public place, open the app, select your ring, click on the linked card, and choose “Delete card.” This will completely unlink the card from the ring.
If my ring is lost or stolen, what happens to my data and card?
You can unlink the ring from your card by deleting the card through the Fidesmo app, without needing to cancel the card itself. Losing the ring isn’t the same as losing a card; no one will know your name, expiration date, or CVV, keeping your credentials anonymous. Additionally, your card details are completely secure because the ring doesn’t use them directly—it encrypts them through a token. This ensures your data is never at risk, and you can continue using your card or link it to another ring without any issues.
